I was hoping to get my Macbook looked at a Genius Bar instead of shipping it in but since there's none in Seoul I guess the Apple service centers are the next best thing. Does Applecare cover repairs done at service centers?

I bought mine in the USA and it was still under warranty. I brought it into an Apple shop in Busan, the Korean guy phoned up Australia, we (the Aussie and I) chatted for awhile and then realized there was no point to our conversation since he couldn't speak Korean.
After that the Korean just told me to come back in 2 hours. I came back and was given a brand new battery and sent on my way with nothing to pay but he then tried to get me to buy Apple Care.
So my answer is yes, it is good in Korea. |

AppleCare is world wide on notebooks and the mac mini. I took my macbook to a authorized service center in China and they were useless. They didn't fix the problem AND would not replace the broken hardware even though it was under contract. When I got back to Korea I took it to COEX and they replaced my HD and battery, both of them got messed up due to the battery being faulty. IMO the level of service in COEX was very high and very professional. |
