Hey all,

I'll be moving there soon and I wondered if the cellphones that teachers can get have skype mobile as an application on them by chance?

If not- how expensive is an intl texting plan, or is that even an option?

I'm trying to figure out how expensive it'll be to text the US from Korea, and I know the US now has cellphones with Skype mobile on them so you can call and "IM" anyone else all over the world who has skype mobile on their phone. This is certainly an amazing feature if Korean phones are able to download applications including Skype mobile.

Let me know what your phone pricing is and who you recommend. Thanks!

My cell phone doesn't have either of those options. I have an iTouch though, that does. I have skype on my ITouch, which works as long as you have headphones with a microphone. (Bought mine here at Yongsan electronics market for about 11,000 won.) I also loaded an app that allows you to send free text messages to American phones.

Your Itouch has an application that can send text messages to American phones? I've never heard of that. What is the application called?

I would assume it's only when wireless internet is available, right?

There's a skype mobile app for the blackberry, anyone know if it'll work in SK?

You can buy a skype wifi phone ($100) and make free calls on yr account from wifi hotspots but these phones don't have text message availability.
