The Korean Won lost 3% of its value on Tuesday. Experts expect it to drop to 1300 won/dollar.

When the U.S. austerity hits, the won will soar just like the Yen did from 1980-2008

Those same experts were expecting the won to be the best performing currency this year.

The long term outlook for the won remains 1100, but in the near term, due to the Cheonan-related tensions, they expect it to drop to 1300.

This month foreigners sold more than $5 billion in Korean stocks. That's driving the won down.

I can always wait around for a better exchange. Anyways not concerned and even if I do exchange a few million won now, I'm really not going to miss a few hundred bucks that I wouldn't have drunk away anyways.

Laughing I was beginning to worry that I was the only one who sees the po-faced slomenity and certainty with which the doom-laden predictions are uttered as being a little silly.

I'm pretty sure that the won will rebound within a few months. It's just panic over the warship incident and Seoul's reaction.
