I understand that there are lots of venues in Hongdae that cater to Punk music. What venues exactly?

What are the cover charges like?

What happened to Skunk?

Does anyone else know of a place to listen to any Punk or Ska?

I wouldn't bother really, the so-called 'alternative' music scenes in Seoul are just one big clique that I doubt you'd want to join, and the music is sub-par, even for the simpleton genre of punk.

a slightly simplistic view there metalhead. The metal scene might be rubbish here but the punk scene is pretty exciting. In the past few months there have been shows from German, Japanese, Chinese, American and lots of really good Korean bands. The punk scene here is actually one of the coolest I've been part of.

Where is Racetraitor when we need him?
Check out club Spot in Hongdea. Its more Eighties hardcore which is shouldn't be confused with the music that came out of England and New York from 1976-1979.

The punk scene in Seoul is about the same as your average small town high school scene. Kids trying to shock their parents. Lots of covers.

While there are a fair amount of covers, there's actually quite a lot of original, in Korean, songs.

Definitely more original than a lot of the expat cover bands always playing in Itaewon.

About the same amount of covers as The Sex Pistols

No Fun - Iggy Pop
My Way- Frank Sinatra
