I'm sure you're going to get lots of questions about WHY???????
Do you mean gas masks or just dust/surgical masks?
Gas masks can be found in Itaewon - lots of army shops there. As for the price, it is something I have never really enquired about before... |

Well it's obvious why! Given the recent North Korea tension. |

Is it that obvious?
The OP is in Cebu - don't they have any at the base in Cebu? Seems a long way to come for a gas mask.... |

In the unlikely event that North Korea attacked, they'd shell Seoul with thousands upon thousands of chemical munitions. So, a gas mask could come in handy as you huddled in an underground shelter |

Those canister masks aren't certified. It's the same as buying one from a surplus store at home. Plus, KJ1 isn't big on mass casualty weapons. |

Traditional nukes aren't mass casualty weapons.
Everybody has chemical weapons. There's a reason they are impractical for warfare so close to home.
Now I'll try to express myself with smileys: |

He wants one for the same reasons Americans like guns and they have oxygen masks on planes. Both will be next to useless should an emergency occur, but it will make him feel safe. Just keep a bottle of soju in your bag. In case of emergency chug it. Whatever happens, the sudden rush of alcohol will wither make you pass out or be too pissed to care. |

North Korean Chemical Weapons Threaten Region
Thu Jun 18, 2009 3:11am EDT
(Reuters) - North Korea has several thousand tonnes of chemical weapons it can mount on missiles that could be used on a rapid strike against the South, said a report released on Thursday by the International Crisis Group (ICG).
Quote: |
The consensus view is the North's army possess about 2,500-5,000 tonnes of chemical weapons that include mustard gas, sarin and other deadly nerve agents.
"If there is an escalation of conflict and if military hostilities break out, there is a risk that they could be used. In conventional terms, North Korea is weak and they feel they might have to resort to using those," said Daniel Pinkston, the ICG's representative on Seoul.
The North has been working on chemical weapons for decades and can deliver them through long-range artillery trained on the Seoul area -- home to about half of South Korea's 49 million people -- and via missiles that could hit all of the country... |

A lot of bio/chem weapons can be absorbed through the skin anyway... So it's not like a gas mask is going to do you much good without a full biohazard suit to go with it... |
