What exactly is the process for signing up for another year with SMOE? My supervisor explained part of determining if I can do another year is my performance/score at an open class next week, which I'm not too worried about.
I've heard rumors of follow-up interviews at the Ministry of Education though before we sign our next contracts. Can anyone shed some illumination on what exactly SMOE participants will have to do to renew? |

I renewed twice in the past. The first time I had to go to SMOE HQ because I had a special request (wanted to switch schools). It was a simple interview, nothing to worry about. Last year I simply signed the new contract and renwed my visa at immigration.
So, to answer your question, the easiest it will be is signing a new contract and making a trip to immi, and the most difficult it could be is having to go to SMOE HQ for an interview. The open class should be nothing to worry about unless your school doesn't want you or you make big mistakes and demonstrate that you aren't able to do your job. I wouldn't stress it too much if you find yourself well-liked.
Hope this is helpful. |
