Am I the only one who's noticed all these colleges in Seoul starting in May/June/July this year?

ALSO:

I've seen almost ZERO colleges with 12 teaching hours and 5 months vacation, compared to a few years ago. Most seem to push 20 hours a week and offer about 6-8 weeks vacation...which would be great for a public school (these days), but for a college job, that's pretty damn low if I do say so myself, and with base salaries at about 2.0-2.2 a month; maybe no housing or on campus housing.

I've seen overtime for 20-25 an hour mostly, and have even seen some college that offered 10 per hour. 10,000 won an hour for overtime? Damn, that's bad...China looks better and better every year....

Sooo many people are talking about heading to China these days. I think a lot of people will start heading there, because that market is improving for teachers (salaries going up, etc). I wonder what will happen to Korean ESL. Maybe nothing, as there may still be plenty of teachers coming over. I don't know if it's likely, but a small part of me would be happy if all of this stagnation in the Korean ESL market sorta "bit them in the....don't know if that'll get mod-edited."

I posted a thread about university jobs and their benefits a few weeks ago. I was basically asking if all the uni people in South Korea think that their benefits packages are going to remain the same after 10 plus years. Mos seemed to think that there will still be the 5 month vacation type jobs but they will be much fewer and insanely hard to get. As somebody that is looking to South Korea as a long term prospect, I just don't see the uni route as good as it is now in another 15 years. Hours will go up and vacation time will be axed. Then it will just be like another PS job.
