If my school is using a travel agent to find my flight(it was too late for me to jump in and buy the ticket) would a travel agent be able to find a flight much cheaper than the airlines website or a search engine like expedia? |

Yes.
Flight discounters like whypaymore and 072 are often much cheaper. |

I thought 072 and whypaymore are search engines? I thought you said the school could find the flight cheaper through a travel agent rather than the airlines site and a search engine.
Another thing, could the school give the travel agent a price range and when she/he finds the price the school wants they notify them?
The reason I ask this is that my k-teacher gave the finance office the paperwork saying I need a flight two weeks ago and when I asked the teacher if she has the E-ticket her answer was a travel agent is working on it and she was told by the office that by June 10 I should have my flight information. |

I mean, maybe. The travel agent basically just does a lot of looking for cheap flights. You could do a lot of looking too but might not find anything. I've tried travel agents and have never found cheaper flights with them, but that's because I always just do a lot of searching on my own.
So...the answer is maybe. They might be able to find a cheaper flight, might not.

You can do that with kayak.com. Put in the price you want to pay, and they notify you when there are tickets available at that price. |

So you are basically saying the school could extend the time to wait with the travel agent until they have a date in mind to stop waiting for a lower price. Bottom line if the school says June 10 is when they will have my E-ticket,it means they will wait a month and then they are taking a chance if they will get it lower or not. |
