Two questions, both in the case that I bring my UK XBox 360 to South Korea (assuming I get the position). Does anyone have experience of these?

1) XBox Live Gold - Will the Live Gold brought outside of Korea (in this case in the UK, though for this Q it probably doesn't matter) still work when I'm in Korea?

2) TV Signals - The 360 uses PAL 50 or 60 I believe. Has anyone tried a UK 360 (or possibly other UK console) using the scart/Red+White+Yellow leads? Does it work/not work and is there a way to correct it? I know US and JP ones tend not to work on older TVs here at least.

I believe UK is PAL and Koreais NTSC.

A quick fix would be to buy a HDTV so you don't have to worry about PAL/NTSC.

Question 2 has been answered above, so I'll stick to the first question. Your Xbox Live should be fine. I have a Korean Xbox but I got UK Xbox Live and it works fine, all the video features and stuff. The only thing that doesn't work is Sky Player, though perhaps yours might work if you signed up in the UK first (mine won't recognise the ID/password, because I'm outside the UK, I assume). Zune might not work but I don't know, never tried it.

Anyway, the point is that you should have no problem with UK Live. Just remember that you need to buy UK MS points - I use a British credit card to buy them through the Xbox Live menus and it works fine.

Thanks. So it seems I don't have to worry about 1). The only features I ever use are the online play and messaging. I'll remember that about the points too.

For 2) I'll consider that, but it depends on what's already there (if anything) and finances when I arrive. I meant on pre-HDTV, where it's often only the scart/three wires that can be used for the 360.

You will find that in all likeliness you'll get a very basic TV, and it will only have two of the three inputs so it will be a black and white picture. This was my experience anyway.

Scart isn't used here, so it's either using two cables and getting a B/W picture or stumping up the cash for a HD monitor which would cost around 150 depending on brand and store.
