hi everyone, unfortunately my search function isn't working (i think it might be my internet connection/browser).
since i can't search for it i figured i'd just ask it here and hope for an easy/quick response. i know that upon arrival in korea you are given a medical exam that includes a drug test. does the drug test screen for marijuana? my friend told me they used to screen for it, but as more and more teachers arriving in korea began failing the tests and being sent home, they removed marijuana from the list.
is this just hearsay, or does it have some truth to it?
i'd appreciate any help on this matter, thanks! |

Unless you come from The Netherlands, you have no excuse.
It's at the discretion of the office and person issuing you your alien card. |

Don't be so quick to pass judgement. You never know, he could have been at an Alicia Keyes concert, and someone passed something to him...
OP, best to take it easy for at least a few days before the medical. Try to avoid taking it right when you get here, particularly if you're overweight. Postpone it for a week or so. Also: QCarbo.
Good luck.

The canaboid test is NOT required by immigration but that does NOT mean that your employer won't ask for it. |

In my experience, they always test for the cannaboid. (I've peed in the cup twice...) Once for hagwon, once for public school.
So, the notion that they don't test for it anymore is probably just heresay, although I've heard it said myself. I've heard it's not a required test anymore and I've heard that you can request they don't give it to you, but could you imagine making that request?
I'd listen to bde2 and detox. Also, if it makes you feel better, I've never been tested right off the plane-- always at least a week later. |

If you're the one paying for it, you have every right to ask for the exclusion of any test that isn't required and costs money. |

If you smoke, is quitting before you come to Korea that hard? If so, it's best to stay out of k-land. |

Also, don't smoke dope in Asia. If you're lucky, they'll just find you and deport you.
I've heard stories in the news of people who were investigated because they were at a party where one of the attendees was busted for dope.
If you love your friends, don't do it. |

with the number of Canadians teaching in Korea, not everyone is making the dope test mandatory. |
