How does one get their final pay and severance when leaving Korea for good? Public school said airplane ticket had to be purchased and had to board the plane prior to them paying it back? Has anyone dealt with this?

I'm curious about how you are leaving a PS in the middle of the semester and getting final pay and severance

Because that's probably when he got hired. Some people get hired at strange times. For example I was hired in January rather than the usual March/September intake.

I understand the concept of it, it's just like a hagwon in that way. I just was wondering why they wouldn't extend his stay until the term end. or if the OP opted not to stay longer

Always had a contract that ended in June...this was 3 yrs at this school. I am using a family member's sign on as I could not get my password back that I had for my account.

This is my last contract..been in Korea for 5 yrs and finishing this public school the end of June. I am having trouble getting them to pay my ticket all the way home to the states where I am from and I have the confirmation that I paid for my travel.

Also, I do not know how to go about getting my money for June or my severance and am going to the pension office next week.

Suggestions..the English handler never had to do this before and does not have a clue since I have been there way before her.

You just need to get your foot down and tell them what and how you want it (put it in writing). You also need to bug them to death until they tell you when you'll be paid. Otherwise, they'll just sit and play dumb until you've left the country without your money.
