Wonder if anyone knows anything about Gangseo, in particular the Gayang area of Seoul. I have a job offer there which seems pretty decent. I know it is on the new subway line 9, which is nice. Any other opinions on this place?
Thanks |

I know someone who went there and seemed pretty happy with their job and apartment, which was very cute
Plus it's in Seoul which is a bonus in my books anyway! |

if they stick you right at the subway station, which they probably will. it's cool. plenty of restaurants. a department store and grocery store nearby. the river a short walk away. not a bad area. good luck! |

Cheers for the positive replies.
Yes it's 5 minutes from the subway supposedly. Looking forward to getting back into civilization after being in the boonies for over a year |

Hi,
I live right next to the station and I think Gayang is a pretty decent place. Two homeplus' and an E-mart within a 5 minute walk, lots of nice, cheap restaurants, it's right next to the river for walks/exercise and Gayang station is an express stop on the subway. I normally hang out in Mokdong/Omokgyo which is only a few stops away and it's just across the river from Hongdae/Sinchon. One express stop from Gimpo airport...
Also, it's nice and often quiet compared to more downtown places in Seoul, but the express line and close proximity to line 5 means you can be anywhere in downtown Seoul within 30 minutes.
Gayang's good for me |

I lived there. It was a very good location.
The neighborhood itself has all you would need (as mentioned above). There's also TGI Friday's and Outback Steakhouse if you're into that.
It's only an 8,000 won cab ride to Hongdae. Bus and Subway connections are very good too. You should count yourself lucky. It's a good place. |

I know about the area and know people who work in that exact spot. PM me the name of the school and I might be able to tell you more. |
