SLP is Sogang Language Program as the Hakwons call it.
Many foreigners who've worked there refer to it by an entirely different acronym: Slave Labor Program.
That should tell you something. A typical SLP contract has you working more hours for less pay than an average hakwon and that's just for starters.
Granted your particular one may NOT be typical but I wouldn't bet on it. |

I'll keep this brief.
READ THE CONTRACT> it is all spelled out in there.
You will work about 40 hours per week (start to finish).
You are contracted for about 20-21 classes per week (80 minutes with a 10 minute break at mid point = 90 minute classes).
Bottom line: You will work 1800 contact minutes per week for the same money as the next hakwon monkey working 1500 contact minutes; 6 HOURS more time per week standing in front of your class for the same money.
It goes downhill from there. |
