Some of you may remember him from his NBA days. There's a good gallery memorializing him over at cnnsi.

He lead an impressive life. We could use a few more people like Manute, especially NBA players, who devote their life to helping others.

On a side note my dad tells a story of exiting a bathroom at the same time Manute was entering, running into him. My dad said he only came up a little over his belly button. The man was tall!

He was one of those guys with a name I always thought there could be a play on or good joke about, but which never actually elicited one.
