What are the typical dorm rules Korean students must follow?
What are the typical dorm rules Foreign teachers must follow?
I truly hope they don't all live in the same place with the same rules. |

Hi There,
If it is a religious institute they may have lockdown/ curfew of the dormitory room at 11pm, even on weekends. They argued that our rules were more relaxed then the student's rules but they still got annoying. It was a fire hazard. The rooms were even barred at the back of the dorm to prevent back window exits/ entrances and visitors.
But that was just one university, mine..
Good Luck |

one camp I stayed at we were locked out after a certain time just as the students would be - so it does vary from place to place. there was a guard around (tho usually sleeping) to let people in who did get locked out, but still.
mostly you just have to wait and see. |

I didn't experience it firsthand, but I taught at a camp last year where I stayed in the university dorms and at 11pm they would lock the doors with a chain and lock...I wasn't worried about the fire hazard though due to large glass windows all around the first floor and lots of chairs nearby that could be used to smash them if necessary.
If you are taking a job and that is a big deal for you, short term like camps it shouldn't be hard to tolerate for a couple weeks, for a full year, get a place off campus... |

Yep, due to camps we stayed at a dorm where the doors locked at 12. And, no alcohol in the dorms. This was surprisingly great since we'd all be well-rested by the next day. Though we eventually ended up smuggling alcohol in and sneaking the empties out in the morning
It felt like, well, I don't really know. I've never lived in a place with prohibition or a curfew. Though I've seen it in movies. |
