I am wondering where everybody is going to go to watch the America v. England game this Saturday. Where will they be showing this game on big screens with good atmosphere? Where are the good sports bars in Seoul??
Thanks everybody! |

I understand the game starts at 8pm Saturday night? I would venture to say the bars of Itaewon as they look like Western sports bars. I can't recall seeing any big screens, but wasn't looking the few times I visited. I'm quite very sure the Koreans in every city will be tuned in. I know of a couple Western style bars in my city, but no screens are in them. I'm not sure how the Koreans will do the game day sports bar kind of thing. Would be interesting to find out how they enjoy a game. |

The game starts kicks off at 3:30 am Saturday night/Sunday morning in Seoul. The game will be shown in a lot of bars around Itaewon, but I don't know if they will be showing the SBS broadcast or have an English speaking broadcast via satellite.
A list of bars that may be showing the game:
Sam Ryan's
Scrooge
Hollywoods
Wolfhound
Dillenger's
Seoul Pub
Geckos
Rocky Mountain Tavern
One thing to be aware of is an article from the Korea Times recently that said bars showing the game using the SBS telecast may be charged by SBS a minimum of 5,000,000 won because they were upset about losing so much money on the Winter Olympics last year. What that means for English satellite channels, ?????, but it might mean a dirth of public opportunities at bars. |

What about other Seoul locations (other than Itaewon) for the South Korea v Greek match (at 8:30pm) and the England v USA (at 03:30)?
Will bars in hongdae/sinchon have those matches?
Will there be big screens in City Hall? |

Yes to all. This is the World Cup, not the World Series.

Most every bar in the country with a TV will be showing the matches, you don't have to settle for Itaewon. |

We want to watch the USA vs England match tonight but want to avoid Itaewon...things might get nasty with the soldiers around.
Does any one know a pub/bar, foreign or Korean, other than in Itaewon, that is showing this match for sure? (at 3.30am tonight)? |
