Do you think it is wrong for teachers to date their students?

How old are the students???? Wink

Seriously though, probably not as even sub-consciuosly it will influence the decisions you make in the classroom and create added problems between you and the students and between the students themselves.

If you seriously like one of your students just change classes with someone or don't teach that class.

As I posted on another thread:

There is something that always astounds me about this basic topic.

There are over 22 million women in South Korea. Accounting for age differences, let's say 2.2 million (10%) are in a doable range. Knock off 75% to account for those you have no attraction to, and you're still left with over half a million women.

With that many options you could (theoretically) shag a different woman (or talk philosophy or have a coffee or whatever) every night for well over a thousand years.

I never understand why guys shag their students or dip their pen in the company ink.

So, I think it's sad that people don't have enough self-control to not shag the first thing they find in front of their eyes.

In a hogwon setting it's not a great idea, since word always gets out. But it's not wrong if both of you are consenting adults.

In a University or College setting, then it's wrong. The teacher wields too much power over the student to make dating even remotely a good idea.

If you have to ask, you shouldn't be teaching.

Is that Korean age or normal age?

I believe that students (whether hogwan, university, highschool, middleschool, elementary, kindergarten) should always be out of bounds.

Classes should be reserved for teaching not for developing romantic associations.
