|
|
I want to recommend to everybody on this board a new and excellent Indian restaurant called Tandoori. They cook delicious Kashmiri style Indian food. The owner himself is from Kashmir and has been in the restaurant business for more than 10 years. He hires professional cooks from India. The waiters there are very attentive and will look after you well.
If you go to this restaurant, you will love the authentic Indian food and the atmosphere. It's a nice break from Korean food.
How to get there:
Go to Ewha women's university subway station, line number 2 (green line) exit 3, After coming out of exit 3 walk 30 meters take first right, walk 60 meters you will find Tandoori on your right.
Restaurant phone number is (02-312-0777) |

Cool I like Indian food. I went to Foreigner Restaurant a few weeks ago and they were really rude to me. It was that Friday holiday and working people were generally unhappy that day anyhow. I think that Chaakra place in the alley is quite decent food and very friendly. |

I ate once at the Foreign Restaurant and while the food was decent, the service was poor. The waiter ignored me after he brought me the food. I had to shout to him to refill my water.

Awesome news! Thanks for the heads up... I was just telling my mum a week ago I would kill for a plate of decent curry, and the other Indian restaurant I frequent is not too great (though much better than Kimchi Mandu, etc).... next time I'm in the big city I'll check this place out! |

There are a lot of good restaurants in Seoul - Indian and other. If you're a foodie (food lover), you pretty much have to try them all to find your favorite.
Or you just make a restaurant list by area so that when you're shopping or teaching in that part of town, you know where to go. I have favorite restaurants all over Seoul. |

Oh, yet another "food blogger" in Seoul writing about the same restaurants and coffee shops, blah, blah, blah. Let me guess, you love everything, never give negative reviews, never bring up high prices, and you tell the restaurants you are a "famous blogger" so you can get free food, and if you get enough clicks then lousy restaurants will buy ads then you can loyally tout their overpriced crappy food no matter what reality might say. That's pretty much the career path for a "famous food blogger" in Seoul.
Um, no thanks on the "best in Seoul" advice. I'll stick with advice from posters without any kind of interest or gain from giving their advice.
Oh, and I still prefer Evergreen in Itaewon. I like the salad and desserts. But I'm sure there are other good places. Foreign Restaurant's problem is that it's location is TOO good and it doesn't have to do very much to draw in customers; so they stopped caring about customer service. Yeah, I got that same treatment my last time there, too. |

In the Hyehwa area, I go to New Dehli (weekly)
If you come out of Exit 4, there's the main mall road, but just slightly to your right is a road (walk left of Baskin Robbins).
Head down that road, and opposite the GS25, there is a Chicken N Beer. Above that is New Dehli.
Prices are generally reasonable for Indian (imo, anywhere from 14-18 000 is my reasonable) and I haven't had a complaint about any of it.
Some Indian restaurants I've been too have served Korean rice, which really puts me off my curry. This place does charge 3 000 for basmati rice, which I think is expensive. |

I don't like Yeti either.
Tiny, cramped tables (if you choose that area), and super slow service.
And the prices are ridiculous. Durga is where I go (in Jongno.). At least the people there are friendly! |
