I am officially finished my 1 year contract which also means that my E-2 visa is up. I am travelling to Hong Kong and then coming back to Korea next week. My alien registration card's expiry date is June 30, 2010.
Will I have any problems re-entering Korea?
I should be on a travel visa now, right?
or do I have to apply for a re-entry permit again just to be on the safe side?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

You are correct. I've done this before twice and it wasn't a problem. You'll re-enter as a tourist. They'll void your E-2 on the way out with a marker/stamp and take your alien card. |

To avoid any problems returning to Korea you should turn in your ARC on the way through passport control (canceling your E2) and you will be granted a 90-day B1 tourist stamp (6 month B2 stamp if you are Canadian) on entry when you return.
