|
|
Hi,
I need help in planning a lesson about food. I was thinking about a restaurant context where they make their own menus and then use the menus in a role play, but last week I've already done similar things with a birthday party theme using invitation in a dialogue.
Now I'm thinking about having a recipe in class but I don't want to make the recipes, because having food in the classroom will be messy.
Any ideas on how my lesson should flow?
SO STUCK!!! your help would be much appreciated! |

go to the grocery store and get a pile of flyers. Get scissors. Give them a budget. They cut out and label the food and paste on a poster describing their shopping list for a certain scenario (maybe say that friends are coming for dinner or its a party for 10 people etc....).
After, display the posters and time permitting they can present what they bought and why. Very authentic.
You might also want to sing the pizza song - the best chant for "food" topics.

Students get 1 of about 6 different recipes (ingredients they need). Then give them a list of ingredients they "have", which doesn't match what they need. So students then have to go around the classroom asking "Do you have any tomatoes?" / "Can I borrow some milk?" etc. to collect their ingredients. |
