Hi guys, I am looking to go to the Philippines with my boyfriend for Chuseok. The flights I have been finding for Boracay are like 16hours to get to a neighbouring island. We only have three days off (21st,22nd,23rd Sept) so this would be way to much traveling time
We are looking for somewhere with beautiful beaches that is easily accessible. Boracay looks gorgeous, so that would be my first choice, but it looks quite hard to get to. Does anyone know the easiest way to get here?
If not, then please could someone recommend an island for me? I'm not fussed about nightlife, just somewhere to chill out in the sun for a few days and relax.
Thank you for your help |

Because the flights from Incheon to the Phils are mostly evening flights the best bet with the least travel time won't be the cheapest or nicest alternative.
Fly into Cebu and you can be on the beach of your resort within an hour of landing on Mactan island (Cebu). The beaches aren't the nicest but they are OK. Same with the resorts.
Next option would the Phuket in Thailand (with direct flights from Incheon). Again, you would be at your resort within an hour or so of landing.
3rd option would be to look at a direct flight to Clark (Philippines) and head for Subic bay.
Seeing that you have 3 days, can you make an evening flight out on the 20th? If yes, then you can add more options to your list. |

Thanks for the advice. What is the best website to search for flights? I wont't be able to go on 20th as live quite far from the airport. Is it monsoon season in September for Thailand? |

It is monsoon season here now (but it forgot to rain).
The rainy season was canceled this year on account of El Nino.
Try the discount airline's own websites ( http://www.cebupacificair.com , http://www.zestair.com.ph/ , http://www.thaiairways.com/ ).
As an alternative to the beach you can always try the festivities in Hong Kong or Macau for the mid autumn festival. (no visa required and multiple daily flights going both ways)

Sea-Air are the sole operator from Caticlan Airport on Panay Island just south of Boracay to & from Manila. All the bigger aircraft now fly out of Calibo, after several large planes skidded on the short runway last year during the rainy season. Sea-air even provide a free shuttle bus to & from the port to get to Boracay. If you cant book a Seaair flight, it takes about 2 hours by bus to Caticlan from Calibo, then 30 minutes to cross by boat to Boracay. So if possible book Sea-air. I have no idea which terminal in Manilla 'Sea-air' operate from. Try their website or google wikitravel Boracay.
