My gym is closed on Sundays and I would love to go on a hike. I know there a lot of "mountains" in my area, but they are just packed with people. To me the noise level ruins the fun of walking outdoors. I know that it is highly unlikely, but are there places I can hike east side or East of Seoul that is not packed with people?
Thanks in advance. |

Short answer is no.
There is no quiet corner, no deserted peaceful promenade in this country. I've been all over Korea and have not found anywhere that you can walk longer than 5 minutes without encountering other people or cars. Its worst at weekends but even on weekdays..no matter how early in the morning you venture out..there will be someone already up and marching along hand-clapping or shouting. |

I doubt it in Seoul, but there are plenty of places in Gyeonggi. I've been up a few mountains in Anyang by myself and read a book at the peak. One person Silently walked by and nodded about an hour into it, and then nobody else until Sunset.
I suppose this means to try and find mountains that aren't particularly impressive looking nor popular. |
