|
|
I'm looking to purchase airfare to Thailand for my summer break. I have been monitoring the net, but prices have been steadily increasing over the last few weeks. I know a lot of Koreans use travel agents to plan their trips, but will it save me any money?
Before I start calling around and working with a travel agent does anyone have any experience using one here in Korea?
What about a place to get killer deals on a flight to Thailand?
Thanks for your help! |

When booking flights, killer deals are best avoided!
Find something convenient, not flights which have a low price but involve overnight and wasted time. Only 5 weeks till evryone leaves the country, so getting online deals may noyt be a good option. Travel agencies snap up many of the cheaper seats AND CAN BE BOUGHT FROM THEM, as only the expensive ones are left online.
We book ours through onlinetour and my wife does all the talking, force of habit.
Saying that, we missed the cheap flights a couple of years back (online perhaps you need 8-10 weeks advance purchase), and I used a guy called Sancho [kyh0112 at hotmail.com] and he got us a decent 30 day offer being run by AirFrance which saved about 600k a person.
Online, once you click there is usually not much room for altering anything.
Using a travel agent, changes can be made free or for a small fee.
I think onlinetour, you can even camcel within 7 days, and you only loose 200k.

I bought tickets for England 6 weeks ago at 1.5M per person.
1 week later, same tickets were 2.2M per person.
When purchasing a ticket, always do so as fast as possible. |

| I've noticed that when various websites (topair, whypaymore, etc..) say flights are sold out, you can usually go to a travel agent and they can find a flight for a good price. |
