I might be a newbie but $175 for Apostilled documents seems a bit high. I got 2 diplomas, 2 marriage licenses and 1 background check done by the State of Ohio within a week and it only cost me $5 each item... |

were you doing it yourself or did you have a friend/relative do it for you?
Most places will not give a notary to just anyone. CRC also- you must pay through the nose |

Fingerprinting would have been $15, but my cousin is a Lt. so I got that done for free.
The CBC was $50.
Apostille was $10.
This was for NYS.
I spent $60 (it would have been $75) to show that I've never even got a ticket for jaywalking. |

They were referring to just the apostille attachment-- not the actual document. In the state of Ohio it is $5. I had one of my apostilles done there, and I had to get an apostille from Oregon, and in Oregon it is $10. The state sets the fees I guess.
But if the site is charging $175.. boy, that is way too much! |

Get stuff notorized at your bank for free.
Then file for the stamp, costs between 2 and 50 dollars per document depending on your state.
I did it from Hawaii it was only 2 bucks, but it took almost a damn month. My recruiter had to get my background check taken care of, cost 50 bucks but did it in one day. |

Sorry I didn't quote the original post, it has since been edited. The original post was advertising some Apostille website where the prices were crazy in addition to the background check, which still only cost me $35 in addition to the Apostille charges. Lesson learned. |
