Does anyone know if it is possible to have a medical test done in your home country prior to arriving in Korea in lieu of having the medical exam performed in Korea (on your own dime)?
The reason I ask is because I have health insurance through work and an exam would already be covered under my plan.
Thanks! |

It must be conducted at a hospital in korea and submitted to immigration within 90 days of your arrival. A check from your home country might reassure you that you will pass the check in korea, but it is redundant and not applicable for your visa approval.
You need to submit the korean health check before they will issue your Alien Card - which allows you to open a bank account, get a cell phone, activate internet service in your apartment, etc. The cost ranges between 35 and 100 000 W depending on where you have it done. I'd say the average is about 60 000 W. |
