The owner/director said she never saw the contract that I agreed too.
I had 2, 3 hour negotiations through a broken translator to salvage part of what I was promised. I didn't get pension or health insurance. I had to agree to a 2 week unpaid orientation which included no training. I had no experience and I was the first and only native English speaker.

Most of the Korean staff quit during my 2 month stay. I was told they fought with the director/owner.

I was told I wouldn't teach kindy, but ended up spending an hour with 20, 6 year olds alone and with little or no support. Also, another 50 mins every day with 5 and 4 year olds. I had to sit at a tiny desk for 4 hours in between kindy and the few elementary students i taught in the afternoon. Wouldn't of been so bad if I could fit my legs under the desk.

The director tried to make me tutor at 7AM before regular classes in a neighborhood 40 min away. I refused, saying it was illegal. She held me in her office for 3 hours and said I was rude and she was disappointed in me. I also worked at a 2nd school twice a week that was and hour away. That school was great.

The apartment was tolerable, but I was told by the few teachers in the area that it is a poor neighborhood and I should have had a 2 bedroom or at least a nicer apartment.

I did get paid on time and the other Korean teacher that was left(if she is still there now) was a sweet heart.

That's it in a nutshell. I'm sure its not the worst story, but its far from rainbows and roses.

Good luck out there.
