What is most alarming about this article is the lengths that those in power will go to to deny the nature of the enemy.

Statements like:
In the interview Thursday, Mr. Brennan also said that the vision of Islam put forth by Osama bin Laden and other al Qaeda leaders was widely rejected by the Muslim world.
and
"Clearly, bin laden and al Qaeda believe they are on this very holy agenda and this jihad," he said. "However, in my view, what we cannot do is to allow them to think, and the rest of the world to think, and for the future terrorists of the world to believe al Qaeda is a legitimate representation of jihad and Islam."
Jihadism is the true face of Islam. It is the purest aspect. Muslims all over the world know this. That is why there is so little 'moderate' condemnation of Jihad. They realize that the Jihadists are fighting the good fight as outlined in the later parts of the Koran.
It is only liberal self-hating westerners who are in denial. They are too weak willed to defend what is rapidly becoming a vapid western culture |

Even more of them want to emulate it. Especially the pop culture. Go spend some time in Malaysia and then tell me you hate Muslims. |

I can't speak for the EU since I don't live there and have spent hardly any time in the region, but Islamic fundamentalism is about on the same level of being a danger as the right wing militias here in the USA.
And while I can't say I support our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, I do think they've kept the competent Muslim terrorists occupied on that side of the world. |
