You might have seen the recent "Shouting Korea" TV commercials for the World Cup.

Nothing new about shouting in Korea.

From supermarkets where the fish section and the meat section get on microphones and have a daily shouting match, to people shouting on their cell phones in subway cars or students screaming in pc bangs....

Why do so many people feel the need to shout?

Yea, I noticed sales people rudely shouting in the manner of demanding that people support them in their effort of being so money focused instead of actually caring about providing good product. I got screamed at by old ladies several times for smelling dead fish to check if it had gone off yet, because I need to know this before paying for my pricey fish. Customer service and manners are far different in the far East.
