I didn't want to ask my co-teacher for help on this one heh. I've had some rather bad stomach issues for the last couple days....and well, to leave out the details, I think I need some laxatives to resolve the issue. I assume the pharmacy, but what am I looking for? Keep in mind I live in a rural area, I'm not in Seoul or anything Sad

those little yogurt drinks in the small plastic bottles the kids drink at lunch? those have laxatives in them

also anything w/coconut milk/juice in the marts

and aloe vera

and kiwis are very, very laxative inducing - try 2 or 3, remember, kiwis make you go, bananas make you stop Laughing Laughing

bananas make you go...

apples make you stop, but only if you eat the skin, and chew it lots.

^^^^ heh heh, it rhymes ... almost

Kimchi and liberal amounts of water could be good. Also, every mart has those orangey fiber drinks. Maybe a few of those would get things moving.

The bottles with the big C on them?

I guess I could try the aloe drinks and see how that goes, and some water :/

there are these little blue and white packets at the pharmacy that have some sort of seeds in them. I don't know what they are called, but if you figure it out, make sure that you don't have any other plans for awhile.

You should be able to find psyllium fiber (차전자피) at your local pharmacy.

It's called 그린화이바 (Green Fiber).

Here is a link to what it looks like -> http://www.helpus.co.kr/goods/view.php?goodsno=1621

Just print out that web page, and show it to the pharmacist.

Just remember to use kiwi sparingly as they are protected and endangered.

I discovered that the hard way. Sad

Do those yogurt drinks really have laxatives in them? I thought drinking yogurt would help soothe my stomach. Guess that could be why it didn't work...

Som Ri Chicken [솜리치킨]

It tastes great and has so much MSG its like human Draino~
I prefer the sunsal [순살] or bonless version.

And here I've just been rubbing them on my shoes for years. I better be more sparing.

he gave himself an enema.... with some small tubing on a raft. Gotta hand it to the man...

and best of all, you can give it to the tubby guy on Man Vs Food. He could polish it off in an hour or so. Wink

this is incorrect - bananas are highly recommended even by drs for people w/diarrhea; 2 a day alone will often create constipation in a person w/a normal bowel activity

hemorrhoids are common in Korea from the low roughage diet; the drinks are to help the kids go...

rather than just add fresh veges to their food. some schools do give fruit every day, which is certainly much better but overall, their diet is (generally) too high in rice and carbs and too low in raw veges

Most of the Korean diet looks like it's made up from twigs and berries. I would have guessed roughage is not a problem here! Anyway, my advice to clean out the pipes is several pints of Guinness and a chicken vindaloo.
Never fails.
