Wondering if there is a competent handyman on the ESLcafe forum that could give my 360 a tuneup. It has trouble reading discs. I'm in Seoul if there is someone out there that could do such a thing.

Give it a quick run through the dishwasher. Then it'll be alright.

Wink

If you go to the underground vid games market, there's a store called G.A.S. and the guy does 360 repairs. You're gonna have to spend money, but I highly doubt anyone on ESLcafe would just do work like this for free either, so..................... you're probably gonna have to spend money.

Simplest solution you can try if you haven't already is to buy one of those spraycans that people use on computers. Stick the tip of the straw into the 360 disc drive and just shoot air into the console. When I had a 360, it did wonders for the disc drives reading ability. Dust will often collect on/around the laser lens, obstructing it.

Final solution--you COULD sell your 360 and upgrade to one of the new slim ones haha

That's a good idea about the air can. Probably better than the dishwasher.

I don't know any off hand, but if you're at least somewhat inclined to that sort of thing, there are guides for doing maintenance on it yourself.

It's just a tunnel of video game shops where you can get shady stuff done like modding consoles, buying DS chips, and that kinda stuff. It's also where you can pretty much find most video games and video-game related things available in Seoul. The location's been explained loads of times on the site, even a few times this week, so I won't re-explain it here. It's kinda hard to explain, sorry.

My old console started doing this and I did try the air can but to no avail, many times it said "This disk cannot be read, please clean the disk" and so on. Happened numerous times to make it so frustrating to play, hence I bought an elite and I've never been happier. From what I read online the laser is what's going and would need to be replaced which would probably be quite a bit in my esimation to make it almost worth buying new. If you DO successfully get it fixed let me know, as I've often thought if I could get the old one fixed then I'd get it modded and use that as my modded console.
