Preface: last year, had 1 great co-teacher and one totally crap co-teacher. This year, my great co-teacher left to take some sort of semester long education program, and my crap co-teacher is now a head teacher. My new co-teacher is barely out of education school and cannot speak much English (some of my elementary students are better...).

So I've put my re-signing stuff into motion--filled out the proper forms and had my open class (scored high)--but I haven't heard anything in a while; I had my open class about a month ago or so. I am trying to make the move to high school and my school is aware and somewhat okay with this (they want me to stay). When should I expect to be called in for an interview?

The only person who speaks English in my school is my old crap co-teacher who NEVER wants to help me with anything. If I ask her about this, she tells me to ask my new co-teacher who never reads MOE documents and almost lost me my re-signing observation class window because of that (cool guy, though).

So basically, I'm clueless and have no one at my school to ask about this information.

Has anyone been called in for the re-signing interviews yet? Anyone know what the deal is with re-signing this year?

Any info would be appreciated.

I haven't heard a word about it since my open class.

I think contractually they have 60 days before our contracts end to let us know what they decide. That means the 24th of this month is the day we should be told to re-sign or hit the road in August.

It depends on what level you are teaching. If you are teaching high school, you should know if you are being re-signed by now and should have had an interview at the SMOE offices.

Elementary and Middle schools are re-signed by their district offices, so if you really want to know, I would contact someone there.
