So I understand the pipes in many areas of the country are old and falling apart. I also understand that a large population relies on bottled water. I was hoping to find out if the water in Incheon is especially bad, and has anyone ever tried bringing a tap filter? Thanks

You could, I lived there for year. I always boiled water for ice cubes in the summer and have never had a problem.

I'm not in Incheon, but it's like any old city anywhere, full of chemicals and minerals and junk. It also tastes pretty bad. I use a Brita water pitcher I got from Home Plus.
