What can I put on my bed to make it more comfortable? Are air mattresses available here? I just can't find a comfortable position, which is why I am still awake - again - at nearly 3 in the morning.

Buy a 'yo' at E-Mart, they're about 25 000 won and really comfortable, it's not that hard to work out, buddy.

And what exactly was the purpose of being insulting and condescending?

Haters gonna hate.

Wish you luck with your bed softening.

I love my rock hard bed. When I was home for a month, I couldn't sleep properly in my old bed. And I started developing back ache by the end. Would rather sleep on the floor these days.

Korean beds are super rock hard. I still wake up with aches and pains. I've got one of those pads on top of the mattress, maybe I should get two.

Also has anyone seen any nice (but manly) 100% cotton bedsheets and duvet covers for sale anywhere? The one's in Homeplus suck.

Cotton sheets are available at Homeplus. I have some plain blue and plain pink ones. They cost a bit much, but are worth it.

As for the beds, a lot of Koreans think that box springs are mattresses. I just ordered a new REAL mattress, because my old one is just a piece of ddong, and after a year, the yo I'd put on top has flattened enough so that I can feel the springs again. I'll leave the nice mattress as a gift for the new teacher next year. They only cost a few hundred bucks, and for a year of comfort, are totally worth it.

Because I have no shame, I took one of the mattresses that people routinely leave near the dumpsters to be hauled away. It's how I furnished my entire officetel, really...

I took a night table that my neighbor was going to scrap. He left it by the elevator and after 3 days I claimed it. It's much better than the table I'd been using.

Most comfortable thing I've slept on. Mind you this was before they stopped accepting credit cards. I bought it in February.

I like to sleep on my left side, but I notice my left shoulder ball joint is aching me a lot in the past couple of months like I have a pinched nerve, because the bed doesn't allow it to sink a couple inches as needed. I hear you on the topic of beds being a bit too firm. I think mine is cheap by the looks and feel of it.
