If they both win their games this weekend SK and the US would meet in the quarterfinals on Friday July 2nd.

Would that be a good thing or bad thing? Wink

It would be quite amusing if the US won based on some really dodgy refereeing. Maybe it would be the biggest outbreak of anti-Americanism since the mad-cow disease thing.

Wishful thinking that both Korea and the US will get that far. If it did, then I think it would be pretty exciting. Any "dodgy" referring would most likely be against the Americans, if the Slovenia/Algeria game has been any indicators.

I think it would be great for both countries to get to the quarterfinals. Even if Korea loses, I don't see any rampant anti-Americanism. They would be proud that they actually made it to the Quarterfinals again. Especially since Argentina gave Korea a good Reality check on the level of tghe Korean team.

Not really wishful thinking. Each team has to win one game, and Ghana and Uruguay aren't exactly the top teams in the world. I'd love to meet Korea in the quarterfinals. I'd be at City Hal in full Captain America apparel.

speaking of dodgy refereeing... i know we botched that iraq thing and all but... that 2 to 2 game we played a few weeks ago... technically it should have been 3 to 2... awkward...

all obvious anti americanism aside, what is the official amount of points deductible from the american team (per game) based on their country?

Yeah I thought the US result against Slovenia was a sham, still can't see what was wrong with the third goal.

As for the other two games, well, the US beat Algeria, and the England game was a draw due to Green's laughable ineptitutde.

I bought two shirts: one for the Korean team, and one for the American team. Tonight, I inquired at a local Korean bar if they would be showing both games: Korea at 11 and USA Ghana at 3.

Indeed, they will be showing both games, but foreigners are not allowed in for the Korean match tonight. Rolling Eyes

Guess I'll be giving away my Korean shirt.

Well, if I were a betting man:

USA 6/4 (2.50)
Draw 2/1 (3.00)
Ghana 11/5 (3.20)
