I'm finishing my contract with no Hick ups, but wanted to sign with a different non-PS gig.
Do I need to do the whole immigration and embassy interview stuff all over again? Get all the same docs?
Anything I don't have to do again? I'm not doing a stereotypicaly VISA run, but visiting a few countries and the USA before I return in September or October. |

Everything EXCEPT the embassy interview. Docs are the same. You do a visa run to Japan when you get the visa confirmation number.
As a general policy the public schools do NOT give a LOR so you would usually be unable to complete a transfer of visa and have to do a new visa application.

Thanks....is a LOR possible only if you leave your employer before your contract period is finished? If it's possible to skip the visa documents and all the other stuff, I'd like to do that.
I assume I have to do another Medical check....can I do it in Korea and submit that? |

It is possible to skip all the visa documents (except the medical check which can be done in country). BUT...there must be no gap between the jobs.
For example if your prior job ends on January 1st, the start date of your NEXT job must be January 2nd.
If not then you must submit the documents all over again. |
