What is the best way for a gyopo(who can't speak Korean, in my case) to job search?
Are there any recruiters known for placing positions for gyopos? It sounds like gyopos don't have much luck going through recruiters.
From what I've read, gyopos are better off applying directly to hagwons. So how do you go about contacting the school? |

Have a degree? go through one of the public school recruitment programs.
they are more likely to hire you from abroad than any hakwon.
If you are here, get someone to help you create a bilingual resume / cover letter and hit the pavement in the area you want to work in.

Yes, I have a degree. But so far I've heard the exact opposite of what you said. I hear that gyopos are better off applying to hagwons because they are more likely to hire them.
I'm not there, but I am thinking about maybe flying to Korea and searching for a job since I have enough money to last at least a few months. |

It depends on if you have experience. Or a TEFL. If you don't have it you might get indirect discrimination at ps, they can't turn you down. But, your more likely to get the postings no one else wants. especially if your going through an education office, not getting hired by the school directly.
On a side note, the perception on this forum is the F-4 lets yo do anything you want. Its not true. If you want to do privates on the side. Go to hagwon.
But, if you work for public school, you cannot do privates. Your visa lets you do it. But, your job doesn't let you do it. |
