I'm no fan of Harper but this is over the top and inappropriate:

On Saturday Ignatieff kicked off his "Liberal Express" tour by proclaiming he would deliver a positive message but then compared Prime Minister Stephen Harper to the devil. A spokesman for Ignatieff says the leader has nothing to apologize for.
"You know you smell the whiff of sulfur coming off the guy," said Ignatieff in reference to the prime minister. Saying someone has the whiff of sulfur about them has a long history in both literature and religious writing of referring to Satan.
"The smell of rotten eggs is quite evident when one faces the Conservative government on a daily basis. Secrecy, dirty tricks in committees, sole-source contracting, the smearing of officials, the bully tactics, the broken promises," said Ignatieff spokesman Michael O'Shaughnessy in an e-mail to QMI Agency.

I do hope that this kind of rhetoric does not reflect the Liberal Party. |
