I've just googled laser hair removal in Seoul, and came up with a few outdated blogs. I'm wondering if anyone has had laser hair removal recently (within the last year or so) in Seoul and if so, where did you go? How much did it cost? Any recommendations (or warnings!) out there? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm just wondering if you went for any lazer removal? I'm also thinking of having this done in the coming weeks and was wondering how your experience was and if you could recommend anyone? Thanks.

I just recommended Dr.Lee at the Woo Skin Clinic near Sookmung University station on another thread. He does laser hair removal and I totally recommend him.

He speaks very good English, and you can find out more about costs and stuff by calling 02) 756-5118 (his English line). You will probably have to leave a name and number on a machine, but he will call you back himself and you can discuss with him on the phone. I've been a patient of his for 6 or 7 years and am always happy with the quality of his work. Furthermore, a few months ago he got the latest machine for laser hair removal called the Gentle Max.

Great thanks for that.
I emailed his office today and an initial consultation was 30,000. Seemed expensive but I guess he's worth it in the long run giving your recommendation and some research I've done on the interent. I also may try a clinic called 'teng teng' which I read about. Their consultation is just 10,000. Have you or anyone else got any recommendations about them?

I COMLETELY disagree and DO NOT RECOMMEND Woo Skin and especially Dr. Geun Lee of that clinic. He did a bad job that required me to go to a different clinic eventually because the cream that I had to fork mnore money out for to treat the side effects caused by the improperly chosen/applied laser treatment I got at Woo Skin did not do anything to clear up the very noticeable blotchy skin I got as a result of their treatment (blotches didn't show up right away, they developed after a couple of weeks, getting worse each week).

I went to TENG TENG CLINIC after that, since the cream was having no effect and I just didn't want to go a year or something waiting for it to maybe work and putting makeup over the blotches to hide them. Dr. Julius Jeon speaks English perfectly, is US trained and seems up-to-date with treatments, and took a lot more time to consult than Dr. Lee who only spent a minute or two with me before I was whisked away for treatment. Dr. Jeon did a lot more explaining, and explained why the side effects (the blotches) appeared and how this treatment I would get would remove it, so I felt I was getting a proper consultation. The cream he said was quite ineffective. So I got suckered to pay more money for something useless it seems at Woo Skin. And I wasted time applying that cream daily thinking it would improve my skin which it did NOT.

This is my personal experience, not hearsay. Teng Teng Clinic is now in Apkujeong I think, and at the time I went, it didn't cost much more than Woo Skin, and was worth it because I didn't end up with some unpleasant side effect that I then had to spend more on to correct. Not to mention it stressed me out, seeing the blotches get worse and not knowing if they'd ever go away.

ALSO Dr. Lee of Woo Skin didn't seem that concerned when he saw my blotchy skin and simply said it sometimes happens, that perhaps I hadn't been careful enough with post-care - which is ridiculous as I was super super careful and avoided sun exposure and followed all the instructions I got to a T, and later applied the pretty useless cream exactly as they had said to.

Also, back then, Teng Teng seemed to have better overall service, the nurses and admin were nicer and I didn't have to sit with a number ticket etc. Their equipment and clinic facilities also seemed newer, especially the laser equipment.

Any more updates or suggestions on where to get laser hair removal? Can anyone tell me how much it costs?

I waited until home leave to have my underarms touched up, so those are done. I have 2 sessions left for my legs (I didn't finish my treatment plan before moving to Korea, but it is mostly done), so would also appreciate a recommendation. I'd rather pay a lot for quality than a Bob's Bargain Basement place. The quality of lasers vary. If you know of one with the cooling air (pretty painless), please let me know.
