My contract says that I will need to submit a "certificate of residency" in order to claim tax exemption at my provincial office of education.

Does this not apply to me because I am a Canadian? Or do we have such a form and did you submit it?

Why would you want to be exempt from 3.3% Korean tax and instead pay the 20-51% Canadian tax? If you are deemed nonresident of Canada you only pay income on Canadian sources. Unless I misunderstood your question.

Canadians are not eligible for Korean income tax exemption. No need to provide anything.

Better in fact if you live here as a verifiable non-resident of Canada to avoid paying additional Canadian taxes.

Numerous threads discuss that issue.

Under a bilateral treaty, Canadians are NOT exempt from Korean taxes during their 1st two years of public service in Korea (unlike the other 6 nationalities).

Nothing to produce and no tax exemption.
