|
|
The long story short:
I took my passport and all the relevant documents to the Korean embassy in London last week.
I went back to collect the passport today and while they have issued my C4 they have only issued it for 30 days even though my job is supposed to last 8 weeks and all the docs showed that I needed to be in the country till the end of August.
I am supposed to start work next Weds, but they say it will take longer than that to correct the error. Ahh!
I just looked on HiKorea to see if it is possible to extend the visa (http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/index.html) once I'm in Korea.
It looks as though I can, but am not sure whether that is an extension for work or just to stay longer as a tourist. Obviously I don't want to get to Korea and find out that they can't extend the visa...
Any advice would be really appreciated! |

Work visas can ALWAYS be extended (unlike entry on arrival tourist stamps) at your local immigration office but there is some paperwork involved as well as a 30k won application fee.
A C4 can be extended UP TO the maximum 90 days (more than that and you need an E2).
