So I bought airline tickets a little over a week ago for a 4 night trip to China. I planned to go apply for my visa next week. I looked online and discovered that as of a couple of days ago, you now have to have over 6 months left on your ARC (previously all the travel sites just said you need 6 months more on your passport.) Is there a way around this or a way to get an extension on your ARC? My ARC expires in December. I'm a US citizen if that makes any difference. |

Some friends of mine had the same problem, and after talking to two travel agents and the Chinese Embassy, I guess the answer is no, you're SOL. Sorry, buddy. |

You can consider smithy's tactic as well, if there's someone to help you out back in the States and if the PRC consulate is OK with that. |

My ARC expires in November and I just got my China visa last week with no problems. I don't know if this new regulation that you must have at least 6 months just started last week, but I don't have six months and I had no problems getting a double-entry visa (I'm American).
I went to one of the Chinese travel agencies out of Myeong-dong Station exit 3. |
