I was about to get my second round of toast going the other day when my toaster silently stopped working. I believe it will be a blown fuse, but have no idea where it is (not in the plug as far as I can tell) or if that's the problem.

Can anyone help? I'd feel a bit stupid buying a new toaster if it turned out to be just the fuse...

circuit breakers... should be a panel up on the wall in your room somewhere.

Just trip the switch back to the on position.

The other option is try the toaster in another socket that you know is working to make sure it is not the toaster (is your TV working? try it there) or check another appliance in the socket to see if it is the circuit breaker.

Unless it is a convection oven, it doesnt have a fuse in the actual unit.

As the above poster said, check your circuit breaker first, if there isnt a blown fuse there then the element in your toaster is fried. Fixing it would cost more than buying a new one.

Cheers for the replies.

I forgot to mention that it is just the toaster that isn't working. The kettle works fine in that socket and the toaster doesn't work in the kettle socket.

If there's no fuse in the plug or toaster itself then looks like my toaster has blown after only 3 months! Damn these cheap toasters. Burning bread over a flame is no fun so looks like it's back to Emart...
