Hi, I have a F4 and just graduated from a University in California. I was a design student and wanted to go to Korea to try to find a internship at a design agency, but I am not expecting any type of financial return for my services so in order to survive I want to teach English.
Ideally, I would like a position that begins at 4:00pm til whenever.
Does anyone know of any gigs like this?
Are there any companies that provide housing for part-time work?
What would you do if you were in my situation?
I am not really focused on making or saving money, but rather focused on making enough money to survive while I try to pursue my dream. |

4-10 at a hakwon is a full time, 30 class per week job and should give you housing etc.
It will be burnout city however because I have never known a Korean working at a Korean company (whether compensated or not) to leave work that early. Most employees are required to burn the midnight oil as a matter of policy.

If you can find a design internship in any medium or large city, there will be plenty of hogwans to choose from for 25-30 hour per week jobs that include housing and airfare. You'll have to work harder doing this double shift, but you'll be able to learn, earn and save and maybe switch into your design profession as a full time paid professional in year or so.
Go for it. |
