My only suggestion is Nakwon, but more importantly, what kinda music do you intend to play on that there bass? I'm dyin' for some good acoustic players to get together with....

I am sorry we did not connect earlier, Banjois, but I am buying the bass because I am leaving Korea and going to a place where a standup bass would be much more expensive than it is here. I know I can probably find one in Nakwon, but I thought I would give the board a try first.

Just make sure to check with the airline about bringing a bass, because I'm pretty sure you have to buy an extra seat for basses unless you get a super expensive hardshell travel case, in which case you'd have to pay for oversized luggage. Anyway, the extra ticket for the bass might make it turn out to be more expensive to buy a bass in Korea.

I'm having it shipped by boat with the rest of my personal effects, which makes it much less expensive. Thanks for the tip, though. I feel sorry for the bass player who thinks he's getting his standup bass in the overhead compartment.

Looking for a 3/4 size acoustic. Let me know if you know of one.

I was looking for the same. Prices were so bad (2-3x) that I bought an electric upright bass from a company called ergo in the States. The bonus is that it's far lighter and smaller than a normal URB. Subway transport is a piece of cake and weather changes have no effect on the instument.

here's a link to a pic of me playing for Harley Davidson of Korea.
