I have a Master in Distance Education with a specialization in Educational Technology. I am currently living in Canada working as an instructional designer at a polytechnic and have a couple of outside contracts. I've also worked in industry as a curriculum developer with this degree.

Right now, if you are Canadian, check the ACCC (www.accc.ca) website, and there are 3 - 4 jobs from academic institutions looking for instructional designers or tech specialists. at www.workopolis.ca there are several positions for educational technologists, instructional designers, and curriculum coordinators. If you are American and interested in jobs for Ed.Tech specialists in instructional design, go to www.instructionaldesign.org and check out the job board. I hope this helps your decision.

Oh yeah, while I was in Korea, I also taught at a uni hagwan. Fun times.

Right this is a good degree to pursue.

The education market has a high demand for instructional designers and tech-savvy people with expertise in Distance Education-E-learning.

Universities are getting on the DL wagon so there are jobs out there.

I would say if you enjoy that aspect of education then by all means go for this degree.
