I am currently undertaking a thesis in English camp curricula with a focus on South Korea.
If you have had experience in choosing or creating any material that is taught on an English camp I'd be very grateful if you could complete my questionnaire.

Feel free to contact me for more information. Or if you have any comments
Thanks for your help

I'm about to move to Korea in the hope of finding work when I get there. What's the deal with these summer camps? Am I too late to find work at one? Are they likely to want experienced teachers? I have none... |

Most of these summer camps are done in house, ie. the school organizes it and has their own teachers teach the classes. It is 'almost' a manditory thing for NET teachers in public schools, though in some circumstances it doesn't happen. On occasion a school will hire extra teachers, but they will usually only hire teachers from other, nearby, schools. When I worked in Gimpo I did a short camp (i think it was only 3 days, but it might have been a full week) at another school, my principal actually arranged it for me.
I guess I've also heard of institutes and English villages hiring extra staff for summer camps. I imagine they only hire F visa people or people that are already here on some other kind of visa, can't picture them going to the effort of applying for E2's just for a month or so. |
