|
|
I've been wanting to meet people from other Commonwealth countries (esp. UK & Australia) and was wondering if there are places in Seoul which are popular with Aussies and Brits in particular? I have some friends in Canada from these places, & I just love them so much!
Plus I want to make Korean friends as well, but they are all around |

You'll mainly find them in Itaewon and Hongdae. I can't be more specific than that because all bars have a general mix of people nowadays. There was a time a few years ago when you could be directed to specific bars but those days are gone.
My advice is avoid places that play HipHop because that tends to repel the people you mentioned. Go for more rock / dance / rave....although they're aren't many places like that (unfortunately). |

You could try Tony's Aussie Bar & Bistro in Itaewon.

Tony is a true blue Aussie & he may be able to connect you with other Aussies. |

Sweet! I'll def check out those areas plus Tony's, sounds like fun I see they serve lots of Australian food & would like to try some Aussie beer & burgers!
I noticed there's also an Irish-style pub in Seoul which I would love to try out. |

A fair amount of Brits used to hang out at Hollywood's in Itaewon, not sure about now though.
Aussies used to go to Scrooge's (also in Itaewon) to watch the ruggers as such, but they stopped doing that as their team always seemed to be losing or something. |

If the Guinness is from Dublin then I'd sincerely doubt it's traveled well... |

Hay now. Losing??
The Australian rugby team weren't defeated so much as they failed to let the opposition lose, and that's not their fault. |

Hey SOTMS, you sound Australian or pretty supportive of their rugby game anyway, so I will ask you, where do you think are popular spots to spot Aussies in Seoul? |

You must be a well-seasoned expat amcnutt......would you prefer somewhere that you could meet Aussies that are from the east coast or west coast? What if their parents are Australian but they grew up somewhere else? Would they suffice? |
