Right now I have been just refilling the same 5-6 2L water bottles at work, but I really don't want to do this for the rest of the year. In the US I used water filter that would just attach to the sink but of course they don't have those here. I have seen the Brita pitcher + filters at Emart but it's ridiculously expensive and they were out of stock anyway. I've seen the big hot/cold water machines floating around on craigslist for reasonable prices but I would have no idea how to hook them up, let alone getting them transported to my apartment. What do you guys do?

I have a "big hot/cold water machine". Cost up front was 250,000 including delivery and installation. Replacement filters cost 30k, recommended every 3-4 months.

I don't do much for water. It's sad, really. It does so much for me.

Having a stressful week. Forgive me for being a little punchy.

This is the cheapest method:

http://www.ehow.com/how_12584_make-solar-still.html

We just buy bottled water in 5L jugs from HomePlus....we tried refilling bottles at work for a while but then we noticed that if the water sat for 2-3 days that it would start to reek of bacteria, so we don't trust that those machines are being cleaned and serviced properly.

There are water services available. One company is called Woongjin. For 20,000 a month, you get the filter and the regular cleaning and changing of the filters. There are competitors, so ask them to waive the initial installation fee when you first call them.

We go through 2-3 19 liter bottles of water per month. We order from our local Pulmuone (spelling) dealer. Because we go through so much, they gave us a water cooler for free. Each bottle is 6.000. That comes out to a little more than 300won per liter. Pretty cheap. They deliver one bottle at a time whenever we call them.

My tap water tastes absolutely bloody awful...it really does. We've been on a kick to find new ways to save money and so we tried to nut up and drink the tap water, but it really is gross. Cue Steelrails to come and tell me that my tap water isn't gross.

For around 80,000 won you can get a 4-stage filter system installed under your kitchen sink. The installation fee was around 10,000 won with a faucet for the filtered water.

I had it installed last year.

get the water delivered- even if you don't want to spring for the cooler itself, you can ask for a hand pump (just use Korean pronunciation) that will cost you about 20,000W.

Drink tap water, there's no taste difference (tons of blind and double blind studies to prove this), and it's about the same quality.
