Hey,

My contract and ARC / Visa expire on July 16th. But I am hoping to stay for an extra week, to tie up loose ends and have a day or two on the beach before I go home.
My question is: will I get hasseled at the airport when I leave for over-staying my VISA? Is there a fine or fee to pay?

Thanks

Yes, you WILL be hassled, delayed and possibly fined (100k is usual) for an overstay.

Why not get a simple extension? It is FREE, easy to do and saves you a world of grief.

Simply go to your local immigration office with your ARC, passport and ticket and get the FREE extension (good until your flight date and up to 30 days beyond your ARC).

You can also do it from the immigration website if you have access to a fax and printer.
http://www.immigration.go.kr/ or http://www,g4f.go.kr/
