I wanted to look this up on the search function(but it is perpetually malfunctioning) and I googled it in dozen different ways.
Anyone in Busan know of a Mexican restaurant? Directions or maps would be greatly appreciated. I know a few years ago there was a tiny hole-in-the-wall in Haeundae that made burritos and tacos. I don't even think there was anywhere to sit, but I don't remember how to get there.

It's still there under different ownership. I was there in Feb and the food is good.

Here are some Naver links. I'm sure you and a Korean friend can extrapolate the directions. I don't know them.

I was there two or three times about a year and a half ago. The Korean woman in the picture was the owner then. Did she sell, or is she the new owner? Anyway, I was pretty impressed with the food. I asked her how she learned to cook Mexican food so well and she said she just has a passion for cooking. Muy delicioso!

There's another place downtown around Seomyeon called Taco Loco.

Here's a link in Korean with a map.

I thought that place closed down 3 years ago. Has it reopened?

Fuzzy Navel is a restaurant that has a location at Haeundae (on the road leading from the subway stop to the beach, much closer to the beach then the subway) and there's at least another one downtown. Great Mexican food. Just look for the F'N Tacos sign. lol

Well, it was closed in January 2009, when I was living in Seomyeon. If it reopened it had to be after that.

How was it btw, because I had heard it was not that great?

On a side note, Seomyeon has not just one, but two decent Vietnamese restaurants.

She's the new owner. The guy before her lived in Mexico. That was more than 2 years ago when I saw him last.

The burrito and quesadilla we had was decent although not as good as some like Dos Tacos, but was about the same prices. I like the homely atmosphere and the lady is very friendly.

The Taco Loco place in Seomyeon closed a couple of years ago- didn't last long.

The Haeundae taco stand closed long ago.

I've been to Fuzzy Navel in Haeundae and was very disappointed in the Mexican food- like someone who has some of the ingredients, but has no idea how to make good Mexican food. I didn't like it and I won't recommend it.

Basically, that leaves us with 3 places.

1- Tacos Family in the Pusan National University area, just down from the Crossroads bar. While not the most "authentic" of Mexican cuisines, it is really pretty good and does the trick for me every time. I like it.
If you want real "authentic" Mexican cuisine, then Korea is the wrong country.

2- O'Briens Irish Bar in Gaya (near Seomyeon) has a great menu and does some good quesadillas & tacos.

3- Eva's in Kyungsungdae does a Mexican night on Wednesdays. Haven't been yet, but I like Eva's.

If you want to know where these places are, go to:

the above posters are largely full of fail. at Haeundae, Fuzzy Navel shills terrible Mexican food. The aforementioned "taco stand" in Haeundae is called Taco Senora. i was there a month ago. not only was it open, it was elbow-to-t*t busy. it's awesome and delicious. to get there walk away from the beach on the main road, turn right through the market, cross the street and turn left after the market, turn right in the first alley. Its tiny, but may have a line out the door. it's right by JK Factory bar, a hole-in-the-wall bar well worth checking out. the ajuma that runs Taco Senora is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet, and she'll even deliver food to JK Factory.

So the Haeundae taco stand is back in business?

The story was that the original guy moved on and tried to do something else. I didn't like that guy- he seemed to really give me attitude for some unknown reason.
People here are saying the lady running it now is very nice.
Will have to check it out some time.
Still don't like the fact that it is so small that you're almost guaranteed a wait to get a seat.

Anyone here or anywhere else saying that Fuzzy Navel serves good Mexican food is either just trying to advertise for the bar (they work there or own it)
Or
They have never eaten quality Mexican food in their life.
Give Fuzzy navel a big pass on the Mexican food as it will disappoint.

Here are a couple reviews (in English) for Taco Senora. Also, more specific directions. One with a detailed map, although zooming out will help give a better perspective on the location.

La comida es deliciousa (para Korea). Si necesitas comida mexicana y no puedes cocinar en casa este restaurante pequena es bien. ...Esta cerca a la playa. Si no hay sillas puedes comer en la playa.

...It's close to the beach. If there are no seats you can eat at the beach.

Salud.
Cheers.
